Rev. Al Martin - Senior Pastor
Al is married to Jodie and they have three children, Maddux, Maddison and Mason. In addition to their 3 “M’s” they have a black lab named Marlowe. Al grew up in Amarillo, graduating from Amarillo High. He then attended Texas Tech, where he received a finance degree and an MBA. After working in the corporate world for 5 years he heeded God’s call to ministry and furthered his education at Asbury Theological Seminary. He has worked at churches in Lexington, Kentucky, Abilene, and Lamesa. For over fifteen years, he served as the director of the Wesley Foundation at Texas Tech. The past 2 years, he has served on the Horizon Texas Conference staff.
Al and Jodie love to travel and they have an almost unhealthy obsession with all things Texas Tech. He loves his caffeine, but likes it cold, preferably Diet Dr. Pepper. One of the things on his bucket list is to attend a game at every MLB stadium, and he has only seven to go. Al and Jodie are very excited to serve Southwest Lubbock alongside Grace.
